Doctors diagnose and treat diseases and injuries and perform an important function in looking after the well being of community. Specializationin particular branch of medicine has become a necessity. Advanced specializations include plastic surgery, neurosurgery, cardio-thoracic surgery, pediatric, Gastroenterology, psychiatry, clinical hematology, neurology and endocrinology. The specialization and its related areas of work are as follows:-

General Medicine- deals with general diseases.

General Surgery- Conduct surgery

Neurology- They mainly handle the treatment of problems related to nervous systems and other problems in human body arising from disorders in human brain.

Endocrinology- specializein diagnosis and management of hormonal conditions.
Hematology-Hematologists deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of blood and bone marrow as well as of the immunologic ,homeostatic and vascular systems.

Urology-Urologists are specialize in diseases of the urinary organs in females and urinary track and sex organs in males.

Pediatrics-deals with children from new born to adolescents.

Nephrology-Nephrologists are specialized in diagnosing and treating patients having problems related to high blood pressure, kidneys, fluid retention and electrolyte imbalance.

Cardiology- Deals with ailments and diseases of the heart.

Orthopedics- Orthopedics deals with correction of injuries or disorders of the skeletalsystem, muscles and joints etc.

Pathology- Pathologists deals with interpretingmicroscopic views of body tissues, blood, urine etc.

Gastroenterology- deals with diagnosis and treatment of disorders of digestive system and intestine.

Psychiatry- This is an area of specialization that diagnoses and treats mental disorders by means of medication, psychotherapy and counseling.

Anesthesiology- Anesthetist is specialized in administering anesthetic drugs during surgery and operation.

ENT- ENT specialists deals with diseases and disorders of ear, nose and throat.

Dermatology- deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of skin and related problems.
