You can be a medical doctor within indian army wings too. Depending on your educational time line (MBBS / postgraduation), age, you can get promoted to various ranks for example Lt. General, Major General, Brig. etc. The rank for initial appointment is captain, which is equivalent rank in airforce/navy, if a candidate has full medical registration certificate (i.e. MBBS + compulsory rotational internship). If the candidate has not completed rotational internship (= with provisional Medical registration), then he can join at the rank of Lt.

With steady and satisfied profile, one can get promotions to Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel.
Such a blend of career option that combines both the practice of medicine and service in army is quite rewarding and satisfying. The starting point to have such a combined options will be to finish MBBS at an appropriate time point.
