Hi Vickie,
Pretty interesting question.
When you say electronic items it includes everything right from Home appliances like fridge, TV, Mobiles, computers, other electronic gadgets as well as includes broadcasting and communication, telecommunication, automobiles and the list goes on.
Thus, you become the masters of electrical devices, because you master the circuit board functioning and design chips related to the circuit that makes these electronic gadgets more viable to the common man. As such I feel that since you are interested in Electronic items, a degree in Electrical engineering is a better option than computer science engineering.
As computer science engineering, would involve more of designing a hardware and or software that would help in better functioning of the computers, but you as an EE, will be the one to design the circuit board for the computers,.
