Its good to hear you have been planning to make a career in the Banking Sector as the Specialist Sector. The candidates who hold a professional degree like Engineering, HR, Social work, Agriculture etc. for them Bank is one of the good career options that have a wide scope and demand in the recent times and have been growing rapidly than any other sector.

Bank PO is higher designation offered in the Government Banking Sector. Bank PO exam is conducted for the students who are Graduates. There are two types of Bank PO exam conducted.

The Candidates who aspires to make a career in SBI bank they need to give an SBI PO exam.; whereas the candidate who wish to make a career as PO in any of the Government Banks they need to give an IBPS Bank PO exam. IBPS BANK PO exam is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for the remaining 21 Government Banks in the Country.

The SBI PO exam is conducted in 3 levels

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Group Discussion and Interview

There are restrictions for the attempt of the exam

  1. General- 4 attempts
  2. 2.OBC - 7 attempts
  3. No restriction for the reserved for the the exam with regards to the Attempts.

As you have been planning to apply for the Specialist officer for the HR you can apply through the Bank PO exams. As the HR is the specialist officer post its a Scale I post. You need to have a Full time PG degree in HR./ Social Work.
