Hey Dear,


One can surely do a BCA or Bachelors of Computer Application after 12th but there are certain eligibility criteria that you will have to fulfill before you think of doing this course.

The eligibility criteria for doing BCA is as follows:
One should be 12th pass
should have at least 50% marks in 12th class
students should be of either science or commerce field but mathematics is a compulsory subject for the same i.e. you should have studied math in class 12th.

If you fulfill this criteria the you can definitely apply for the BCA course.
Also dear remember that you will have to give an entrance exam to get into a good college for the BCA course. Many colleges even have an interview for this as well. So you need to be prepared for both the things.

Remember that BCA is one of the most sought after courses after B. Tech. Computer Science so many of the students go for this course which is only for 3 years duration.

Also dear there are many good jobs available after BCA but it is suggested that one should go for MCA after completing BCA as the opportunities are many and decent enough as well.

you can even go for MBA or other Masters courses that are linked to BCA after your graduation.

Moreover there are many good opportunities if you have done some other additional courses like some language courses for example JAVA, C++ etc....

Courses in Oracle etc.. are also good and I will suggest you to do them as well. As it will enhance your resume and chances of getting good and high paying jobs are also really good.

But remember that all these courses are only add on courses and you should focus on you grades in BCA and MCA as well.

About BCA/MCA:
Aspirants of the field tend to their Bachelor's in computer Application (BCA) and then move ahead to do their Master's in the same field. BCA followed by an MBA or MCA is the common path for people interested in the field of Information Technology. while BCA makes the base for the successful career in this field, MCA adds the specilised touch. In BCA, subjects related to basics of technological applications susch as mathematics, database management system, business data procsssing, system analysis, statistics and optimization techniques etc are taught at an elementary level. Similarly in MCA, these subjectsare taught ata higher level and then in final semester, the students need to do the specialization in the form of project work. Some of the popular fields for MCA specilizations are system management, system development, management information system (MIS), etc.

Skills Required:
Admission to both, BCA and MCA, can be obtained on the basis of entrance exams in most of the colleges in India. While having mathematics as a subject in graduation or at the school level is must, there are no other set eligibility criteria. Though having a science background helps in grasping the concepts faster. Being a techical field, a logical bent of mind along with adaptability to the working environment are some of the other pre-requisites in this field.

Job Opportunities:
Beign a growing field, thereare a lot of opportunities available for a person pursuing BCA or MCA. It is advisable to take work experience after doing BCA and then enroll for MCA as scope for a good positions broadens if a person has relevant work experience along with the necessary skills sets. The courses focus on making the student familiar with technical languages at the Bachelor's level and taking a specialization at the Master's level. After pursuing the necessary educational qualifiaction a person can seek job opportunity in the field of software deveoper, web desinger, system management, etc.

With the steep increase in the internet penetration in the country, jobs involving web services too are becoming a popular option. Technical writers are in demand and earn good packages too.

An BCA or MCA graduate can work for any IT compant big or small in various available roles. Depending on a person's caliber there is no death of opportunities in this sector.
