Yes you can from Indian MBA colleges, however for all other foreign MBA universities, the eligibility will depend on your Under graduate course, which needs to be a degree and not diploma. However their might be exceptions in individual universities that you need to check only from that particular university's academic office.

Why not? You can certainly do an MBA after your M.Des course. MBA's are not just any other postgraduate qualification but they are actually a professional qualification. So you should now understand what the term professional stands for - we mean people who are working and have already build up some years of work experience right? So studying the MBA is a wise choice only when you construct some years of work experience behind your collar. On the flip side there are students who rush into the MBA program soon after their college but the experts call it a pitfall. It is only advisable to study the MBA only when you have pulled up a minimum of three years to maximum of five years work exp in the world of work.
There are many good reasons as why MBA after some years of work experience:
1. You will understand the business functions better:
When you spend a few years working in a company, you get to have a flair understanding of each of the business functions. You will develop practical knowledge on what a finance , accounts, human resource, marketing, project and operations department is all about. This knowledge will give you hand while you are learning the theoretical side of a business at a business school.

2. You will understand the theory better to perform well in your academic exam:
As mentioned above, when you gain sound understanding of the practical side of business practices you will indeed perform better on the theorteical side too. You can relate the theoretical concepts well to your practical experience and this way you will develop very good understanding of the MBA subjects and this will very well reflect on your MBA marks.

3. Post MBA job prospectus:
Always keep this in mind: employers prefer students with MBA + work experience than studnets who are freshers with MBA. The success rate of getting a job post your MBA is higher if you have some years of work exp than for a fresher.

4. The power to negotiate your post MBA salary scale:
MBA degree with prior work exp will give you the power to negotiate high pay scales where as a fresher with MBA cannot take up this power. Fresher MBA's usually need to start from the basic salary like the 3lakh per annum where as professionals with MBA can start any where from 6.5lakh and above.

So my best advice for you is try building up some work experience in communications management for a few years and then do the MBA.

Choosing the right MBA:
Your desire to study MBA after M.Des is absolutely right however you should also look for a relevant MBA than doing a general MBA. A general MBA will offer you knowledge on all areas of management where as a specialist MBA will give you indepth academic knowledge on management of your subject. As you have studied communication design, I would advice you to take up the MBA in Communications management course rather doing a general MBA with accounts and finance.

The following esteemed business schools offer MBA in Communications management.
India:
1. Symbiosis institute of media and communication Pune, MBA in Communication management
2. Amity school of communication, MBA in Communication and media management

Both these schools run their own entrance test and it is necessary to follow up their website regularly on the next test date.

World:
1. NYU Stern business school, NewYork USA
2. Darden school of business, University of Virginia USA
3. NUS Singapore
4. Keller school of management USA
5. Manchester business school UK

For all the business schools abroad, it is essential to qualify GMAT, exam with a score above 650 and above. For the USA, you need TOEFL and GMAT and for the UK you need IELTS and GMAT . Singapore is mandatory with GMAT but are okay with either IELTS or TOEFL

Hope this helps. If you need further info please write to us back. Good luck.
