Hi Shivani,
Firstly both are excellent courses and has immense scope in future.
But please note there is a difference in both the courses.There is in particular no link between the courses.
Though after a B.Sc in Lifesciences you can opt for a course in dentistry.
But if your ultimate aim is to get into research in genetics, best would be to stud more on genetics.
So as a counselor I would recommend, either a B.Sc Genetics or B.Sc Lifesciences, which covers genetics too.
In terms of choosing either USA or Canada, please do check in first about their research facilities like laboratories and their coordination with other diagnostic centers. Then look into whether you would fit into the campus or their lifestyle and lastly budget.An abroad education consultant will help you get more information on the same.
