Hello My Dear Career Aspirant,

I would like to firstly thank you for coming to CareerGuide for seeking guidance on your career concern. CareerGuide.com provides you the right platform to get your career queries solved and help you become successful in life and career.

From your query I understand that you are commerce student and to pass the HSC level. Now you wish to join Civil Engineering after your commerce HSC exam results.

Commerce stream and then shifting to Civil Engineering:

Civil Engineering and Commerce streams both are very good streams and are distinct inin every way. Firstly I would like to understand from you why do you want to leave the commerce field and got into a highly technical field of civil engineering?

You have already completed two years in commerce, which will get wasted if you go back to civil engineering.

To join Diploma civil engineering, you have to take admission based on your SSC (10th) marks. Your 12th (HSC Commerce) will not be useful for admission to diploma civil engineering.

Civil Engineering as an option:

Civil Engineering is definitely a good option in career and today civil engineers are required in corporates due to the increased investments in infrastructure and construction sector. The investments and josb in the next five years is going to increase exponentially and here civil engineers will be benefitted the most.

Psychometric Test for judging yourself exactly:

Considering that you want to shift from commerce field to civil engineering field, I think its very important and necessary to actually be hundred percent sure that civil engineering is the career made for you and to know whether you really have the necessary eligibility to become a civil engineer.

I would suggest you to take the stream suggestor or ideal career test psychometric career assessment available at CareerGuide. This test will show you your passion areas, interests, capabilities, strengths, weaknesses. Knowing all such parameters is very necessary for you choose the right career option and course in order to get successful.

I think you need to seriously think over this and take action as early as possible to avoid more delay and waste of years.

All the Best!
