Mechanical engineering is the widest branch among all engineering fields and the job rospects for skilled mechanical engineers are aplenty. They are required to design, test, manufacture, install , operate and maintain variety of machines and mechanicl systems that are used in various industries. These professionals can find job in both public and private sector undertakings.

Mechanical engineers can find career opportunities in manufacturing and research fields in public sector. They can join organizations like Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bridge and Roof Co(India) ltd, security printing and minting corporation , hmt machine tools as project process engineer, production engineer , graduate engineer trainee etc. Those who are keen to make career in research field can join national research corporation ltd, indian space research organization as junior research fellow etc after completing their master's degree.Hindustan petroleum corporation limited hire mechanical engineers for the post of production engineer and project process engineer. Bridge and roof co (india) ltd is also one of the major employer of mechanical engineer. National research corporation ltd hire mechanical engineers as management trainee. ISRO recruits mechanical engineers for the post of scientist. Central Institute of plastic engineering and technology recruit mechanical engineers for various maintenance jobs..
