Meteorology is a branch of science which deals with the methodical study of the atmosphere and the effects it bears on the day to day activities of the inhabitants.

The scope of this particular subject has increased to a great extent because of the alarming and dangerous enhancements in the pollution levels. The aggravation in the environmental hazards such as global warming, forest cover reduction, erosion etc has provided this subject the importance it did not enjoy in the past. The jobs for meteorologists in the public sector organizations, Various meteorological institutes, research institutes and environment regulatory bodies offers alot of career opportunities for the candidates in this specialized field. Some of the public sector organizations that employ meteorologists are :-
