Hi Annaya,

I think you are the same student, who just asked about the careers in medicine in canada. Being inquisitive is good. But making a choice is important.

Where you wish to study is a personal choice. Though one needs to be prepared from an early stage as requirements are different for different countriesd.

Assuming, this question is towards medical courses in India.

Please note, a student who has appeared for PCB in grade 12th and cleared with a minimum 50% is eligible to appear for the AIMS test. Also there are other tests you would have to clear, like the statewise entrance exam for different states.

Medical undergraduate studies are for 6 years, whereby 1 year is dedicated to internship and these days rural internship is a must.

After 6 years of study, you are termed as an MBBS doctor, a generalised practitioner.

After this you could opt for either MS or MD and choose any specialisation you would be interested in. For admission into post graduate studies also you would have to clear the entrance exam.

So in short, it would be a total 9 years of study and few years to settle in your field of specialisation.

Hope you are  ready for this long years of study, with complete dedication.

Wish you good luck...

Dear Aspirant,

You need to be 12th PCB student in order to do a career in medicine.

Preferably from India, you can do MBBS, BAMS, BHMS or Veterinary Medicine. You will have to appear for the All India Medical Entrance Test in order to qualify for the medical course.

Best wishes
