Interesting and the one of the career with a wide range of scope.

But before I answer your question, let me tell you I am answering this question very generically, since you have not mentioned about your background.


Please note that you can pursue Microbiology at the Graduate level, ie. after 12th Science, or at the Post Graduation level i.e. an M.Sc program after specializing with Life-sciences, Botany, Pharmaceuticals etc at the Graduate level.

Microbiologists are scientists who study microbes and their effects on the humans and the environment. It is also a means to Research and inventing new medicines to fight existing diseases and at the same time, researching on new diseases that can be caused by such small microbes.
Thanks to microbiologists we have various kinds of medicines developed, vaccinations available and we are able to breathe fresh air, and eat healthy.

Thus please note that a Microbiologists have opportunities in various aeas like:

  • Agriculture
  • Dairy Farming
  • Pharmacy
  • Genetics
  • NanoTechnology
  • Medical

Please note that this is purely a Research field, so masters is a must, to be working as a Researcher. With just a Graduate degree, you would be assisting a Researcher, making available all options for them to carry on with the research.
