Dear Aspirant,

With the introduction of the new Companies Act 2013, the role of Company Secretary (employment and private practice) has become very important, challenging and growth oriented.

Company Secretary apart from being a master of secretarial practice and company law, he should also be expert in general laws, and therefore LLB should also be done for a better career opportunity and growth.

Career opportunities for Company Secretary are in all companies, banks, financial institutions, non banking institutions, mutual fund companies, etc.

Best wishes

Hi There,

Please note that earlier Company secretary were only considered as a legal advisor to the director, but these days are involved in all functions for the smooth functioning of the organization.
Now they are also responsible for compliance related matters as well as financial advisors to an organization.

As dr Anand has suggested, to be successful as a CS, knowledge regarding LAW is a must. S if you pursue LAW, it would help you further in your career.
Apart from this though your syllabus covers Financial aspects, but in case if you get certificates related to Finances like Taxation and budgeting, forex etc can add to your job profile.

Hope this helps.
Wish you good luck...
