Company Secretaryship is a professional course offered by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and Company Secretary profession is governed by Company Secretaries Act 1980.
If you are at the 12th std level, you can register for the Foundation Course of ICSI. While doing graduation you can do the CS course. There are three levels you need to pass if you take admission after 12th - Foundation, Intermediate and Final.
If you are already a graduate, then you can register yourself directly to the Intermediate level of ICSI and then continue to Final stage.
After you pass the three/two stages/level, and complete the mandatory computer training and articleship, you will be given the membership of ICSI and you will then be called as a qualified Company Secretary. After this you will be eligible for full time jobs.
