Hello, am antony Selvan, from mumbai completed my SSC & HSC in maharashtra Board. but i complete my Diploma in Mechanic Engineering from Open University (Karnataka University) now i want to study B.E or B. tech in Mechanic Engineering from Mumbai university. Why did you do a Diploma from Open University? Were you working that time? Open University is preferably for working people who cannot devote time for studies full time.
I would suggest you to do BE or BTech from the same Open University.

As you have rightly mentioned, you are unable to find colleges that provide direct admission to a degree course, due to the Open University category.
Generally a regular Diploma student is eligible to procure a seat in the degree course, but there is no eligibility for Diploma from Open University mentioned.
Either it is not mentioned online, which generally does not happen.
It would be good if you could go personally and meet the admission staff at the Mumbai University itself or rather the Colleges that you have shortlisted.Something can be worked out.
Or as the above counselor has mentioned, pursue a degree too from an Open University.

Since you have done a Diploma program from an Open University, you have no other option than studying a Degree course also from an Open University.
The only option now you have is, putting in maximum efforts and scoring well, and at the same time, prepare well, for question like,"Why did you opt for an Open University degree".
Hope that your experience while you pursue the course from an Open University, can be of a good help. Since what you learn, you also have a practical experience about their functioning.
Do not worry. If not the qualification, you have work experience to back and support your career. Do not by any chance be cool with the job you opt for. Because now experience is very important for you.
