Confused between career choices to stay as in technical or switch to management

Hello, by role I am software developer . I have completed B.E. in I.T. from Pune university. I have almost 1 yr of software development experience. As of future prospective I want to be successful and want to have good package . right now I am getting 1.8/annum which is low as compared to economy. I am not a hard coder (a person who can code day and night), I am bit lazy, like to think more about new innovation or idea . So, I was thinking to get higher education but I am confused what to do ? Mtech/ MCA or pgdm/MBA (what specialization , if I opt for finance -my maths is bit weak, course may improve my maths , about marketing n other fields I am confused) . And I want to ask how is MISB boconni, Mumbai institute for pgp course ? Please also tell good college for part time MBA/ PGDM courses in Mumbai.

Dear Friend,

Greetings of the day!!!

Let me first tell you that you have explained the concerns and query in a very organised manner which would help me guide you in a much better way.

Since you have done engineering in IT and have been working as a software developer it is important to analyse your strengths and weakness, since you said you want to innovate and you are not a hard core coder, you can consider getting into non-technical field.

Unorganised Sector
Doing an MTech/MCA would provide you benefit but the same may not be able to provide you the diversification in the non technical field. The Choice of MBA could be better option according to me.

In future in case you want to continue in IT or Computer field as well you can get into a position of team lead or Business analyst since MBA would provide you leadership and business skills

Now coming to your question of Finance or Marketing, let me first clear that you need not have very good Maths to understand Finance, lot of Commerce and Arts Graduate also do MBA in Finance, being an engineer you would have an advantage in maths. Maths and Finance are two different things.

Marketing is the one things which you may like in case you want to try new ideas and work on challenging tasks.

The Option to do and MBA from Distance Mode is an better option since you can continue with the Job as well, some good option are Symbiosis Pune, NMIMS Mumbai, Welingkar Mumbai etc.

In case of any other query kindly write back

Rdgs
