Hi, After doing a commerce degree now i want to do criminal law what are the options I am located in Bangalore could you tell me some colleges where i could do it as a correspondence course

While you are considering law as a career you must have a good aptitude for reasoning,logic and also have a good hold over language i.e communication skills.While you can also develop these skills with the time. You must also have a good hold over the reading skills, because you have to read alot many books in order to understand the legal terms and laws.

Criminal law is a branch of law that deals with legal cases related to criminal offences. Some of the areas of criminal law that you could special es is as a criminal lawyer are Cyber-crime,domestic violenceMurder,sexual abuse,criminal trial and forensic science.

Its one of the thrilling and challenging work profile of a criminal lawyer. One must have a tremendous patience to work on cases for long hours,analytical power and great interpersonal skills- your ability to communicate and convince the judge in favour of your client plays an imperative role in determining how good a criminal lawyer you are.
As a criminal lawyer,you could either choose to work as a public defender or work as a private criminal lawyer.

Because of the increase in criminal cases and exploitation against several sections of the Indian Society,the opportunities in the field of criminal law are immense due to which the demand for talented criminal lawyers has profoundly increased over the recent times in the country.

So you can go for the LLB 3 years course in Law after graduation.

While there are no institutes/Universities in India that offers Law degree courses in correspondence.

in order to pursue career as criminal lawyer you will have to go in for masters in Criminal Justice or Criminology once you are done with your Bachelors in Law.
You can also practice Criminal Law right after your Bachelors in Law.

As you are located in Bangalore you can apply to -

  • National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University of Law (NALSAR), Bangalore.

While other institutes are-
