Indian Banking is considered to be one of the fastest growing sector. Government of India have a majority of the hold on the Banks in India. Whereas there are also the private players who have been playing a major role in the Banking sector these days. There are many career opportunities in the Banking sector that have been making the students to take up for the banking as the career. Banking sector is expanding on a large scale in the Rural areas because of the Government mandate policy of Rural Banking.
One can make a career either in the Private or Public Banking.
Earlier the recruitment was done by the Bank Recruitment Selection Board. Now the bank recruitments are done by the IBPS. The IBPS PO exams are conducted for the Governement Nationalised Banks except SBI. SBI conducts the SBI PO exams.
The eligibility criteria for IBPS PO exam is as follows
1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation degree from any recognised university from any stream except Fine Arts Faculty.
2. A candidate must be an Indian.
3. Age 20 to 30 years; 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC; and 10 years for disabled person.
There is no percentage criteria to appear for the IBPS PO exam.
