Karvy is a good broking company. Equity Analyst is a good job profile to begin as a fresher. Hope you have made your mind to make a career in securities market. BBM though not a close enough degree qualification for a career in securities market, it is good to begin with. I would further suggest that you should also be open to higher education like MBA Finance, etc. for making a more stable and strong career.
For equity analyst positions as a fresher they will not be expecting high end knowledge about securities. Therefore, I would suggest few areas where you can prepare and face the interview confidently:
1. Revise every subject in BBM.
2. Read terminologies and bibliography of securities market.
3. Read and remember about the current stock and commodities market scenario, sensex, nifty.
4. Read and remember about mutual funds, money market instruments, etc. Their terminologies.
5. You can download Basic Module of Stock Market course material from www.nseindia.com/ncfm. This will be very helpful.
6. Communications skills, english language and learning attitude are a must.
