Civil engineers experience social interactions a number of times and are not limited to the working with the buildings only. Below explanations will help you understand how the civil engineers experience social interactions in various circumstances:

1. The civil engineers need to meet their clients quite often and gather the requirements from them. They need to listen to their clients well and then propose their ideas. These meetings are important and sometimes the civil engineer has to go to the client site and stay there for a while. Therefore the interactions are quite long.

2. The civil engineers work closely with the architects in understanding the design of the building or the structure. They have to work with them in figuring out the right way to implement the design. In certain cases they also propose certain changes in the design as per the design feasibility and other constraints that may affect the structure.

3. They have to work closely with their fellow engineers in order to plan and design the solution of the structure. This is not an individual task and often a large team of civil engineers is responsible for the various structures. They have to work in coordination and assist each other during the whole project. Thus the interactions are again there.

4. The civil engineers work most of the times on site and have to coordinate with a number of people like workers, laborers, technicians etc. They not only need to guide and instruct those people but also need to have talks with them to make them understand everything so that the work can be completed with great efficiency. Thus again the human interactions are there.

5. They also need to prepare reports and presentations on their work and show them to the management people. These interactions involve lengthy discussions and brainstorming sessions. Also these are the opportunities for them to explain their work to other important members of the organization and get the credit and the appreciation that they deserve. Therefore there a number of social interactions that the civil engineers experience during their work.
