The editors do experience social interactions on a number of occasions and are not only limited to working with their content and sitting on their desks. The various situations where they experience social interactions have been described below:

1. The editors either work independently or with any organization or publishing house. In either case they have to stay in touch with the publishers who will be assigning them the work. They have to meet the publishers on regular basis and ensure that they get the right work and understand the requirements so that a proper plan could be made for that.

2. The editors have to stay in touch with the writers. This is probably the most important part of their work. Once they receive the written piece of the work they have to go through it. If there is something that they are not able to understand they will have to discuss the same with the writer. After that they have to go through the whole work. And once again in order to provide the feedback, they have to meet the writers or communicate with them so that the editing part could be done. A series of discussions often take place between the writer and the editor before the things are finalized. Throughout this the two constantly interact with each other.

3. The editors have to interview certain people also. This is because the editors often write editorials for the newspaper, magazine or the publishing house that they are working for. They publish those interviews as well from time to time. This gives them another opportunity to meet new people and interact with them.

4. While working in an organization or publishing house, the editors usually work in a team. The team consists of a number of people who work together to complete the project. Thus, the editors get the opportunity to interact with their team members all the time and hence experience the social life in their work. Thus they are not deprived of social interactions.
