As a Cost accountant your main role would be to derive the cost and expenses in terms of manufacturing a product.

These includes Research and development that goes into manufacturing the product, marketing and advertising the product, man power needed, equipment needed and from where to be purchased and last but not the least the finance of the entire production right from marketing, to buying the raw product to the finished product.

It is but obvious that you would be getting in details from various departments like the HR, Finance, Marketing and so on...
Then you would be in the process of making or drafting a report based on the details you have received. But the detailing just does not include handing over the documents by the departments, and you then sitting alone and doing the job all by yourself.

It includes a whole set of interaction. You would have to get an answer from the department head as to when the expenses were made and was there a full utility, also whether the product value is there in the market and should we invest in the product to get benefits.
This includes a interaction. Also everytime getting all details would not be easy. Many a times it may be possible that information is being hidden. You would then have to be friendly and talk round the bush to get your answer. This involves interaction but minimal.

This does not end here, after you make a report, you definitely would have to brainstorm with the management or your senior manager. This again involves a whole set of interaction.

Please note that no job is an independent job without any communication. Communication is an integral part of any job, though Finance people interact minimal, but definitely interaction is there.

Wish you all the very best.............
