Interpersonal skills are an important requirement not only in the professional front but also in the personal front too.

Interpersonal skills are the life skills we use everyday to communicate and interact with other people both individually and in groups.People who have worked on developing strong interpersonal skills are usually more successful in both their professional and personal lives.

Staff with strong interpersonal skills is what employers seek to hire.They want people who will work well in a team and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues,customers and clients.

An Electrical engineer with good interpersonal skills isperceivedas optimistic,calm,confident andcharismaticand is appealing to others.These qualities help him to get success in his field.

The various interpersonal skills required for an electrical engineer are-

1)Verbal communication
What you say and how you say.

2)Non verbal communication
What kind of body language do you use to communicate without words.

3)Listening skills
Listening skills require a lot of patience to interpret both verbal and non verbalmessagessent by others.

4)Problem solving
When you work with others you should be able to identify, define and solve the problem.

5)Decision making
You should be able to take sound decisions by exploring and analyzing various options.

6)Assertiveness
You should be able to make things clear to the people you are working with by communicating values,ideas,beliefs,opinions, wants and needs free.

7)Negotiation
Working with others requires to find out a way which is mutually agreeable to keep mutual respect,trust and lasting relation.

I think i have answered your question to best of my knowledge.Move ahead and i think we all are born with certain interpersonal skills and some weacquirefrom our families and friends but there are some which are required for our professions i have already listed above.
