Hello student,

It is good that you are interested in considering Homeopathy as a career option. As such all jobs in whichyou have to interact with human beings need decent interpersonal skills. The same is the case with homeopathy.

Being a homeopath essentially entails interacting with the patient and trying to understand their problems and complaints, personality, likes and dislikes, body tendency, behavioural tendency, etc. The purpose of this is to have a holistic understanding of the person you would treat and choose a treatment method that works best for him/her. Homeopathy treats the patient as a whole rather than only looking at the symptoms of the illness.

Therefore, it is important to have good interpersonal skills. You need to be able to make the patient feel comfortable with you, developing trust in the method of treatment and the doctor. Only when this trust develops the patient will return for repeated sittings as the treatment in homeopathy is often prolonged.

Thus, to be able to do all this effectively, you need to build on your interpersonal and communication.

Good luck!

Regards,

Nandini
