A physicist is a scientist who interacts on daily basis with students, colleagues, superiors, and some times with clients also. When ever we interact with some one, we have to to very specific about our self. We have to convey the meaning of our views to make other easily understand.
Let me first tell you something about interpersonal skills, then you will get an idea about the importance of these skills. The interpersonal skills are the skills we use every day and every time when ever we communicate with other people, both individually and in groups. People who have worked hard on their interpersonal skills are very successful in personal and professional life. Now a days the employers in private companies seek those people who have strong interpersonal skills, so they can effectively communicate with colleagues and other people.Person having strong interpersonal skills are perceived as calm, cool, confident, optimistic, analytical and charismatic. These are the qualities which really influence other persons.

A physicist no doubt is a scientist but first he is also a human being, he cannot remain aloof, interaction with scientific community people is part of his job. To understand other and to make other understand, his interpersonal skills will matter a lot.
