Psychiatrists experience alot of social interaction. They talk to patients about their mental, emotional or behavioral problems in order to understand the nature and severity of mental illness. They undertake medical and mental history of patient by interacting with the patient and his or her significant ones. After thorough analysis of patient condition , they formulate an appropriate treatment plan using a variety of psycho therapeutic methods and medication
.They work in collaboration with psychologists , occupations therapists and social workers for the rehabilitation of their patient. They conduct various psycho education workshops and talks at various industrial establishments and corporate to make people aware of the mental diseases such as acute stress, depression etc. In psycho education progarmmes , they usually make the people aware of the symptoms, causes, effects and strategies to cope up with such illness. They carry out various family therapies in diseases such as depression, marital and other relationship problems etc to make the families understand the importance of their role in overall mental well being of the patient.
