Many successful professionals in the fashion industry have made their mark without formal training but training and relevant academic qualification is important today as the business is becoming more competitive day by day. However success in the world of fashion and glamour industry majorly linked to flair, initiative and enterprise. The demand for Indian fashion designers is increasing in global arena. Indian fashion designers are now being approached by global chains to create separate lines of clothing and accessories. The garment export industry and the fashion outlets in the country are thriving. Designer wear has come to stay and the demand is constantly growing. The demand for all types of wears whether it is sports, leisure, ready to wear is on the rise. Fashion professionals are either working on their own or they are attached to fashion houses or garment export units , to the film industry, to theater or to electronic media. Many textile units in the country have launched their own fashion lines and this has created many more jobs. The fashion industry is at a stage when there are jobs coming up on regular basis. There is an ongoing demand for skilled and trained professionals but competition for the job is fierce wit alot of aspirants for each job.

Fashion designing is one of the most lucrative, appealing, glamorous and exciting career option in today's world. On one hand, the fashion industry satsfies both the creative fancies and the materialistic needs of the people. On the other hand, it promises glamour, fame, success and high pay package to the talented people.

However, it is also a demanding career, as fashion designers need to combine their creativity with managerial skills to sustain in this industry. Thus, if you can create magic with colours, shapes and designs, then just obtain a professional courses to begin a successful career in the alluring world of fashion designing.


What would it cost me?
The fees structure varies form institution to institution. However, on an average you will have to dish out more than Rs. 45,000 per annum to complete course in Fashion Designing from a reputed institution.
The Academic Records matters at the early stage of the employment. Afterwards, along with your Working Experience, it doesnt affect much. Evan the Post Gaduation Courses into a field of "Fashion Designing" ad value to your profile which will help you in long run.


Required skills and personal qualities:
Fashion designer need to have following skills which will help them in long run:
1. To be creative
2. An eye for colour, texture and pattern
3. The ability to visualize things in three dimensions
4. Technical skills in areas such as pattern cutting, grading, and garment construction
5. To be able to draw, either by hand or on the computer.
6. Good communication skills to explain their ideas clearly and persuasively
7. the ability to meet deadlines, and work within a budget
8. Business skills and commercial awareness, particularly, if they are self-employed
9. Good negotiation skills while selling their own designs
10. To keep ahead of trends in colour, fabric and style
11. Strong organizationa skills.
