Dear Student, when any company offering any job, the things they try to observe in the candidate is : Academic Track Record (starting from first to Final semester of Engineering), Communication abilities, Leadership qualities, Problem solving skills, Team work abilities, working under the pressure, Aptitude Test results, Group Discussion and at last the personal Interview. These are the basic criteria any company follow in their selection process.

No doubt the Academic Track Record is most important out of these all criteria. Many companies don't expect the Distinction through out or in final year, butcompany expect minimum First class in your academic track record. If CV or Resume is reflecting first class in all or maximum semester then it automatically reflects that the students in good in academics. Many company ask for through out first class when they go for campus placement drive of major institutes. Many times the criteria of many companies is Above 55% without live backlogs or many times it is 55% with one or two backlogs. So, depending upon these criteria and your academic score you automatically get selected or rejected in the list. So Good academic record is veryimportantwhile looking a job in Instrumentation Engineering field.

If academic track record is not that impressive, then the student is selected in Class 2 type or small type of organization where he has to improve his practical knowledge and then go ahead for grabbing the options available in further career. The MNC and large ogranization many times donts select to the students who are weak in Acadmics but many small companies take such students. Advanatages of working in small company is because of less manpower one has to handle all types of querries and job to do and this make the perfection in the person. In selection into the large or MNC companies we dont get the detailed exposure in all the dpeartment but it is easily done in small company. So if one is having the less mark or poor academics he should start from the small company rather than keeping a dream only for large company.

Once your have field expirience, at the time of job change or second job selection, the academic marks are not been seen. The only part seen is What contribution you done in your earlier job and how much it was beneficial to company.
