Dear Friend,

Academics is the mirror which is used by recruiters to identify your skills for a particular job, but never academics only would be able to provide you the job you desire

Let me tell you about myself i have done my B.com, MBA (Fin) and have worked in Financial Markets for 3+ years, there has always been time when you are judged by your academics but this happens till you do not have experience under your name.

Research analyst are a very niche segment in Job market and normally to do research you would want people who are very good in academics and have eye for details

Thus to get the break in research you should have good academic record, but this is for the entry and does not need always have great academic record.

Wish you all the Best!!

Dear Career Aspirant,

Thanks for writing to www.careerguide.com!

Well, for fresher, academic records matter a lot. I echo what my colleague, Mr. Vaibhav has mentioned. In general, first class or equivalent grade in any graduate course or your last qualifying degree. First class throughout your career considered positive.

Once you have experience, your skills, knowledge and positive approach will be considered for the position.

Wish you best luck with your career,
