The academic record of a textile engineer may or may not matter depending on the job that you are looking for and depends on a number of other factors. The below provided information will help you understand the whole idea about it and the role of academic records in getting a job.

1. If you are a freshman in the textile engineering and have only recently graduated and have no work experience with you, in that case the role of the academic records will be very crucial in getting you a job. This is due to the fact that the employers won't have any other parameter to measure you and evaluate your performance. Thus you need to have a very good academic record so that you can get the job.

2. If you are looking to work in the public sector or keen to get a government job then again you will have to have nice academic records. The stringent academic criteria in case of public jobs is always there. This is different from the private sector jobs where your skills are assessed. Here you are mostly judged on the basis of your academic performances.

3. If you have enough work experience with you, you don't need to worry about the academic records. This is due to the fact that you would have a number of things to show in your resume and convince the employers that you understand the work and have those skills and work in the project setting so that they can offer you a job. Work experience is the most important criteria for any employer and every textile engineer should work on it, to get the quality work experience.

4. In case you have not got good grades in your college, then you should look for additional projects and courses where you can show your worth. Or you can work in a small company where academic criteria are not that strict, to enhance your learning and become eligible for lucrative jobs in the industry.
