Please note that for any kind of diagnostic work, knowledge in terms of biology, physiology, anatomy is essential. In your case, Molecular diagnostics information about genes and chromosomes are a must in addition to the above.
Students with a degree in:BiologyMedicineGenetics are clearly eligible to pursue a PG Diploma in Molecular diagnostics.

Please note that the eligibility for pursuing Molecular diagnostics is MBBS. They have not mentioned BDS anywhere.
So you would have to call up the University and get this clarified.
At the same time, if i recall, you wish to be in the diagnostic role, mainly into analyzing samples and diagnosing them and making a report.
Then why do you wish to waste your dental knowledge and put in 4.5 years of hardwork.
As per my recommendation, pursue B.Sc Genetics and follow it up with Molecular diagnostics.
But in-case of BDS, then please do practice as a dentist and follow it up with a masters degree.
