Hi Arpita,
MIS or Management Information systems, is a job related to management of the systems.
You not only need managerial skills but need to be technically apt too for this job.

You would be the one who deals with the smooth functioning of computers to softwares to any other technical issues one may face and at the same time managing people who use those softwares

Please note that an MIS executive is generally considered part of the IT team, since his job is closely related to the smooth functioning of the systems and keeping them updated.

A brief description of the role of an MIS executive in relation to the IT world would be:

  • Troubleshoot.
  • Upgrade the system, operating system, hardware and software to maintain data integrity
  • Upgrade the system and make the team aware of the changes
  • Network management, web-site maintenance, and trouble shooting.
  • Data analysis and reporting

In IT some job profiles, you may be given includes network and computer systems administrator, IT officer, computer systems analyst and computer and information systems
manager or MIS officer.

MIS is the need of any public or private industry including IT industry. If you are masters in computer science. Or IT, you can get good opportunity to work in the field of MIS.

Potential career titles include network and computer systems administrator, IT officer, computer systems analyst and computer and information systems manager or MIS officer.

The scope within the role are ultimately dependent on the organisation and its information systems.
