Great to know, you have decided what you wish to make a career in.
Anyways I am sure, you know the procedure as well, but still let me give you a brief over it.
Firstly, you wish to be an engineer in the right sense of the word or is it just a designation you looking for in the computer world is important.
To be a software engineer, you need to pursue either a B.Tech or a BE in software or computer engineering after class 12th PCM stream.
After 12th exams, you need to appear for IIT-JEE main for admissions into IIT's and CET fr admission in other institutes that offer a BE Degree.
Another option is after 12th, PCM stream only, you could opt for a B.Sc computer Science related course or opt for BCA course.
A course in computers will give you knowledge related to systems and its functioning and troubleshooting, whereas a BCA course, would expose you towards both hardware and software and programming.
Rest is your choice.
But please note that software is quite a volatile field, keeps uograding at all times. So to keep up-breast with the current knowledge, doing certification courses is a must, whichever position you are working at in the industry.
