The technology is very important to hospitals where open heart surgery is performed. In Kerala, there were very few hospitals where open heart surgery was performed. But now, scenario is changed. We have atleast one hospital in every district which perform open heart surgery. Districts like Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, Malappuram, Kozikode and Kannur has many hospitals of this kind. Therefore, I think, your conclusion is wrong.
But, one of your doubts may be right. In Kerala demand for perfusion technologists is yet to catch up and therefore, the salary part is a bit low. You should know that there are male and female nurses who gets trained themselves in this technology and they are also handy. Secondly salary comes with your experience. For an experienced perfusionists, the salary may range from Rs.20,000 to 30,000. But starters may get up to 15,000. I can assure you that you shall get more as you get experienced. Gulf countries do offer more salary, but the opportunities are not that good there.I think, you should not look into the salary part for now. Now you should concentrate on your studies and gain more and more knowledge in your field. Knowledge is power and once you have power, you shall be able to dictate terms. Once you can bargain then you can pick your salary. Am I correct. Therefore, do not worry about the salary or posting now.
