Good. that is indeed a long term planning.

Since you have said that you are preparing for CAT, I assume you have joined coaching classes that will help you with preparing for your entrance exam.
Apart from this few things you need to keep in mind is:
  • Solve as many papers as you can
  • Keep a tab on the CAT website to know when exactly the forms would be issued
  • Do a lot of reading
  • Focus mainly on the basic concepts
  • Become more analytic in nature
  • Try and develop strategies on your own which will help you crack the exams
  • get ionto the mode of expressing your viewpoints

Apart from this also do focus on other MBA exams like ATMA, XIT, CET and other entrance exams and prepare accordingly.

Divide your time equally, because you also need to focus on your Graduation. Since the eligibility criteria for MBA is 60% and above.
Apart from this, try to gain experience if possible. Getting into an internship program will be helpful, as it helps you in the thinking process and also adds on marks to your exam score.

As far as possible get into a lot of reading. Mainly getting into the mode of expressing the thoughts in your own words

Apart from this get yourself ready for few questions related to Personal Interview.
Questions like:
  • Why do you wish to pursue an MBA program???
  • Why should you be selected from the other candidates
  • Why this particular Institute???
  • What are the main qualities a manager should have apart from the daily ones that are mentioned
  • What is unique in you??
  • What are your hobbies??? How do they make you unique??
  • Why did you choose a particular hobby???
  • Where do you see yourself few months from now, few years from now and 5 years down the line???

Though these questions appear simple and can be answered easily, but the interviewee is only testing your answering and confidence skills.
Please dont try to fake or try giving impressive answers.
Be to the point and maintain eye contact at all times.
Mainly be prepared for these and other such similar type of questions.

Wish you all the very best.........

Dear Aspirant,

Nice to know that you being in the 1st year of BCom you have already made up your mind to do MBA in future.

The ideal time to start preparing for MBA CAT is when you are in the last year of your BCom course. Here, I would suggest you to join a good coaching class for MBA CAT preparation. CAT is one of the toughest entrance tests in the world and so it is very important to get well trained in attempting the toughest questions.

Joining the coaching class will help you to prepare, learn, practice and become confident.

Further, it is very important for you to aim for getting into the Top 15 BSchools since doing an MBA just for the sake of it wont give anything apart from frustration and depression.

Best wishes
