I can understand your concern's that starting from scratch again may raise question..... But you can handle it tactfully explaining that when you have completed your Tenth you were more interested in learning technology but after that you realised your passion's and creativity, so turned towards this.
Regarding scope....interior designing has really good prospects...but still if you want to know how well you will get along with it... I would advise you to take an psychometric assessment which will help you to find out your aptitude, skill, interest areas, personality traits and career options based on that. You will be making a more informed choice. Career guide portal also offers psychometric career assessment test.
Also don't get disheartened by the fact that this profession has not got it's due respect in society because the demand for skilled professional in India is quite high.
