It is important, because if job was unavailable, then you could have gone for a course and kept yourself updated.
Because now wherever you apply for a job, you would be asked the above question and you would be judged accordingly.
Never the less, I would not suggest any course at the moment. May be a crash course in software and its application from NIIT, so that your concepts are not rusted.
You can then update your resume, stating your strengths, your area or projects that you have undertaken successfully during your MCA years and then upload it on various job portals like Naukri, monster etc.
You can then also forward your resume or rather upload them on few websites of the organizations.
Incase if you can be referred nothing like that.
Also please note, at this junction, do not look for a position or a high salaried job. At this moment you are a fresher and getting a relevant job, whereby you are able to apply what you have learned is important. And then taking that experience forward is important.
In terms of further studies, you could opt for an MBA in Project management later, meaning after you secure a job and get few years of experience.
