 Hello Vandana,

Interesting question asked.

Please note the difference between the 2 careers you have mentioned.

In terms of Research officer, only if you are wholly interested in finding out about a new drug or a new formulation and lab work interests you, then you could opt for this field. Please note this will not be a 9 to 5 kind of a job. Sometimes staying back overnight for days could also be a necessity. Hence this position is a well paid position but work demand is equally high.

As a drug regulatory officer, in short you would be a part of the quality control department. Right from seeing the environment in which the drug is manufactured to machines or equipments used to proportion of the chemicals to packaging and storing would be your role. Knowing all the legal requirements is a must here. At the end of the day you would- have to submit a report to the managers. Equally well paid position. Chances of promotion is higher.

At the end I would stress on, that do not choose on the basis of salary. Rather choose the area that interests you, only then will you put in sincere efforts and money would follow. Choice is yours.

Wish you good luck....
