Hi, I am a s/w engineer for over 2 years after my B.Tech. I was considering doing PhD in Computer Science but I am not sure about the job opportunities in public/private sector after it. That has put me into a dilemma of whether I should go for it?

Hi Mona,

No matter whatever we choose there are always career opportunities available its just that we have to find the right opportunity at the right time. Opting for PhD is not a bad option at all but it would open opportunities for you especially in the filed of research or T&D. But if in case you opt not to go for PhD it would still give you wide range of opportunities especially being an engineering graduate the sense of analytics comes naturally to you. Would suggest you to explore the filed of Business Analytics which has got a huge opportunity quotient and the demand for the business analytics specialists is growing with each day.

Wishing you luck in career!
