 Hello Arunima,

Before I answer your question, do let me know what is your specialization at the graduate level?. Mostly I would suggest opt for a masters degree in the area you specialise at the graduate level.

Secondly, why two varied career choices. Wildlife and psychology.

In terms of comparative psychology, whereby researchers study animal behaviour to predict human behaviour. Please note this degree is available mainly in the USA. and they prefer  candidates with a masters degree in developmental psychology. So you could pursue a masters in India and then opt for a P.hd in comparative psychology abroad.

As far as wildlife is concerned, what exactly you wish to work there as. To be a wildlife conservationist, a science background is necessary.

You could choose from wildlife photography to wildlife journalism. As a journalist you could join the team while they explore the animal kingdom. You could pursue a pg diploma in journalism after you graduate after giving an entrance exam.

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck...

Dear Aspirant,

Career in Wildlife does not need psychology studies or for that matter any specific education qualification. By Wildlife what do you mean exactly, photography, research or something else?

I definitely feel that if you are interested in Comparative Psychology you should go ahead for the Masters in Psychology. This will ensure that you get the minimum livelihood and your education would be put to some use for survival.

Wildlife can be kept as a hobby initially and may be after some years if you feel and get the necessary support and luck, you can then take up wildlife as a full time activity in India or abroad. Your passion area is the most important here.

Best wishes
