Hello Kiran,

Interesting career choice. The field you have chosen has a vast opportunity. But only if the candidate is ready to strive. As you know computers is a volatile field whereby everytime we see new inventions. These require a lot of research and study. Hence a need of research scientist like you are needed.

Only if you are keen on pursuing a career in research then only opt for a P.hd program. Or else pursue till masters if interested in sticking to technical background.

Choice is yours. But looking at your question it seems you are interested in research. Go ahead. Mean while try and analyse your area of research so that later you do not waste time in selecting a research topic.

Wish you good luck....

Dear Aspirant,

Nice to see your career background. Your thinking is in a way in the right direction and indicates your aptitude and interest in research and teaching.

The education sector definitely needs industry experienced people to teach and make the future generations of engineers industry relevant and aware. In that direction, your profile is the best fit.

If you are determined and passionate about research & teaching, then definitely you should go ahead for GATE and do your MTech. A PHD later will be an excellent thing to do and be in the research field.

Computer Science is a tremendous challenging field with large scope for innovation. With an MTech and PhD you can also be in to Microsoft, Apple, etc. since they survive on strong research. Teaching is also a best opportunity.

Best wishes
