Hi, I have completed B.E(Mech) in 2010(took 5 years to complete) and worked for a year upto Oct2011 as a trainee in a reputed company. I'm very much interested in design engineering, so i quit my job and joined a design institute which boasted of placements. But I'm pretty sure now that they wont help me in any way.I'm confused and dont know what to do and my academic record is not good with an aggregate of 56%. Sir, my questions are: 1.Could you suggest me Authentic institutes of which the certification is recognized. 2.Should i go ahead with some other training institutes for training or look out for jobs. 3.Will my 1 year of graduate trainee period letter count? I dont know what to do,what is the best way to come out of this? Please help.

Hi Anoop,

Check any job portal, Mechanical Design Engineers are in demand.
About the institutes, try CIPET / NTT. Industry demand qualified professionals from these Institutes.
http://cipet.gov.in/industry%20program/industry_program_stp.html
http://www.nttftrg.com/ ---- offering Postgraduate Degree in Product Design & Engineering

To sum-up my suggestion :
"The demand for professional product designers is rapidly growing as India is becoming a major design hub and product designers have very high career growth potentials. " Ref: www.nttftrg.com

Your experience will always count. Just keep the experience letter handy. NTT program will also take care of your PG studies apart from meeting your interest in Design Engineering.

Good Luck for the future,
Sumit
