A private university has limited resources with a higher fee. So, its always better to join a government university if you wish to pursue a career in research. They are generously supported through various government findings for research and infrastructure. The university departments receive grants from DBT, UGC and other such organizations. Various renowned scientists and professors are also connected to government funded universities and institutions. A better chance to learn and pursue is better in these universities. Financially it is also a better option as the return in the field is not much so that one can cover the expenses in studies they have done within five years after completion of course. But if you have taken admission, continue your studies. Because at the end the entrance examinations like CSIR-JRF, DBT or GATE enhance your prospects after your M.Sc. So, better concentrate on this rather than worrying about the university.
