Before I answer your query. I would advise you that you should always follow where your interest lies in. Or else even if you choose a course decided by your parents, your lack of interest would reflect on your performance. So without even trying to understand which is better, I would say follow your instincts because that is the best and try convincing your parents
Coming to your question, which is better, firstly both the courses are different and hence cannot be compared. One is technical whereas the other is more related to practicals and application based. Though both are related to computers and both can be working as software or systems engineers. But BCA being a comprehensive course industries would prefer them over an engineer. Moreover engineers mainly are into developing a hardware etc.
