Hi, My wife is an IT Engineer and has a negligible experience and was at home for last 2 years, now she wants to start again, How can she start again? Is there any companies who provide training plus job or join a coaching and then hunt for a job?

Hello amit,

Interesting to see you are helping your wife make a career too.

Please note that the IT industry is a pretty volatile industry. Changes every moment. Hence a lag of 2 years in her career she may find it difficult to get a job. A little compromise would be necessary.

At the moment, best would be to pursue a certification in networking or IT from private computer institute like niit. This will help her revise her knowledge.

Once she gets a job she could pursue a part time MCA course, that would help her reestablish her in the market.

Hope this helps.

Wish you good luck

Dear Aspirant,

I wold also definitely recommend a certification or a Masters course. Her past experience since its negligible would not be of use and she will be treated as a fresher. For a fresher in the IT industry there are jobs available.

Just she should ensure that she upgrades her skills in IT, since IT industry is dynamic and also find out which technology or skill is the IT industry currently requiring. If she learns that immediately, then she will definitely get a good job opportunity.

No company would waste time in training from zero, only company specific or project oriented trainings are given.

Project Management certification is one which she can think of. CAPM is the certification which she can aim to get in a short time. Later PMP would be the best.

Best wishes
