Hope you dont mind me answering the question than the counselor you have asked for.
As far as passing from NIOS is concerned, the student can choose to graduate in any stream as per his choice and subject combination. Though while studying from NIOS, the student is deprived of studying few subjects especially Math and their curriculum is of a low intensity.
So before you opt for NIOS post 10th, think twice, because after 12th, it would be a little difficult for the student to compete later on.
