Do your research on the company and job profile well.
Dress formally. Formal trousers/ pencil skirt with a shirt, with or without a jacket, or a straight kurta with a stand collar and straight pants is fine. Skin show to be minimal. Avoid distractions like nail art, dangling jewellery, bling, wild hair colors like blue or orange etc. Keep it simple.
Show patience and good behavior from the point you send your CV, or enter the waiting room for the interview. Be punctual and patient.
Most of the questions will emanate from your CV. Read carefully, and prepare your answers. Be prepared to explain low marks at some stage, or a change in direction.
The laziest interview question is "Tell me about yourself". Prepare an elevator pitch of 1-2 minutes, and rattle it off with confidence.
Study carefully the job profiles in recruitment. HR administration, Learning and Development etc., and state your preferences. Show flexibility, in case, a different profile is being offered.
It helps if you can express your willingness to take up further specializations in the desired field, like DISC/MBTI certifications, TTT Certifications, NLP, Coaching etc.
Hi Harsha,
FEAR - Face it, Explore it, Accept it, Respond
Face the interview with well preparedness and readiness. Focus on the questions and your responses than results. This will help you to perform better and accept the challenges.
The most important thing is, Believe in yourself!
Dear Aspirant,
The only tip from all the tips given to your by your friends, books, etc. is "BELIEVE in yourself in terms of your knowledge and your own self as a human being".
Always remember that a company which hires you is also interested in knowing how you are personally in terms of your attitude, thinking, etc. apart from your education and theoretical knowledge.
MBA HR is a good academic qualification, and you will have to ensure that you know the current HR practices and the policies of the companies. Research the company with whom you are having an interview with.
Best wishes
