Income Tax officer is a great career option for those who wish to make there career in the Tax Department. Its one of the highly respected position in the Government Sector. Its a post offered by the Central Government. The Income Tax officer have to deal with the Tax matters which comes under the Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT).

The Income Tax Officer exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). You can look out for the notification in the employment newspaper or on the SSC official website.

You should posess some of the qualities like-

  1. Good Leadership Skills
  2. Logical Thinking

3.Good at Maths

4.Willingness to travel at different locations

5.Interest in Human Affairs

The further career opportunities in Income Tax department are very good .

The Eligibility criteria for the Income Tax officer i.e SSC exam-

  1. A candidate should have completed a Graduation Degree from a recognised University from any stream.
  2. Those who have completed 18 years of age are eligible to apply for the exam and the upper age limit is 27 years .
  3. Physical Standards (Minimum)-Height: 157.5cm;Chest: 81cm, with a minimum expansion of 5 cm
  4. Physical Test:Walking: 1600 meters in 15 minutes;Cycling: 8 Km in 30 minutes.

The exam consists of -

  1. Prelim Exam

2.Main Exam

3.Personality Test and Interview.

 The future career opportunities in the Income Tax Department are very good and promising career opportunities. The IRS exams are conducted ever year.

 

One can also go through the UPSC IRS exams into the Income Tax Department.
