Income Tax officer is a great career option for those who wish to make there career in the Tax Department. Its one of the highly respected position in the Government Sector. Its a post offered by the Central Government. The Income Tax officer have to deal with the Tax matters which comes under the Central Board of Direct Tax (CBDT).
The Income Tax Officer exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). You can look out for the notification in the employment newspaper or on the SSC official website.
The Eligibility criteria for the Income Tax officer i.e SSC exam-
The exam consists of -
1. Prelim Exam
2.Main Exam
3.Personality Test and Interview.
Whereas there is also another option you can give an Indian Revenue Service exam (IRS) exam conducted by the UPSC every year.
The Eligibility criteria is as follows
1.A candidate who have completed a Graduation Degree from any stream from a recognised university or who is in the last year and is waiting for the result can apply for the exam.
2. The age should be 21 years to 32 years; 5 years age relaxation for the Reserved candidates and 3 years for OBC.
