Hi Ronit,
Very interesting question and a far fetched one.
Being a CEO is like a dream come true for every individual in the corporate sector. But reaching there is a tough course, which one has to sail through with a lot of hard work and passion followed by requisite educational qualification.
Please note a CEO is a person who has a goal and sets the goal for himself and the company. But of course the goal needs to be realistic.
Now for one to have a mission or vision similar to the company one works for is quite difficult. Since every persons vision is different. But never the less, having a goal or target for yourself is the way to move ahead in life.
So firstly, you need to be goal oriented and match it with the company vision and achieve your target and motivate the team too to achieve the target.
Secondly, being in the company. Your tenure is equally important and the contribution towards the companies mission goes hand in hand. You cannot work somewhere for 5 years and expect to be the CEO of the organisation. Working for a minimum of 15 years is a must. It will help you move to the higher position and help you join the management team or Board members. Once you join the board members, the chances of CEO are there but no guarantee.
Sounds good. But here is a word of caution. Dreaming is good but dreaming in reality id equally important. Since there would be many in the rat race, why only would you be selected. Also companies would prefer their own family member or a face well known who has headed that position before. Not trying to demoralise you, but making you aware of the facts.
Keep trying and dreaming, you never know what could happen next.
Wish you good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
To become a CEO, there is no course or a formal educational qualification available in the world.
Therefore, to become a CEO who is considered as a Master of Business Management, you will have to gather relevant education qualifications, study seriously and sincerely and above all gain work experience of atleast 20 years. These 20 years are required to make you aware and competent of the job market, industry, business, economics, strategy and people management.
Best wishes
